The difference between industrial and residential drain cleaning?
Industrial jet blasters run at 4300psi @ 31litres a minute, and are fueled with big diesel engines. Industrial or commercial drainmen usually work from the manhole outside of the building because these machines produce exhaust fumes which need to be ventilated. On average, the industrial machines clear lines ranging from 110mm in diameter to around 250mm in diameter.
Residential clients, (Especially in an apartment block, require a high pressure cleaning machine which does not produce toxic fumes. In these instances, we make use of an electrical high pressure drain cleaning machine. These machines clear pipes from a 50mm diameter through to 110mm in diameter.
In some instances, we make use of drain masters electrical kinetic equipment, or similar high pressure device.
When choosing a drain cleaning service, be sure to ask which equipment your specialist is using since this plays an important role in the long term health of your waste water pipes. Some equipment such as a plumbers drain snake or similar tool which requires forcing a steel shaft down the pipe, might actually cause harm to your pipe joints and cause them to come loose which will result in a leaking pipe.
